Threat/Violence Risk Assessments

Threats of violence are found within the schoolplace, workplace and home. This type of violence is not only costly in terms of financial loss, but also with regards to the loss of sense of safety and in some cases, loss of life. Identification of threats of violence and levels of dangerousness, along with proper knowledge on how to address such a threat can eliminate and/or substantially decrease the odds for violence to occur, and therefore ways to restore peace to the schoolplace, workplace and/or home. A number of agencies have utilized our services including: The Environmental Protection Agency, The Surgeon General’s Office, Colorado District Attorney’s Office, Channel 9 News (KUSA Denver), as well as numerous other law firms, private, public and not-for-profit agencies and individuals.

Trained N-FA experts will meet with relevant management, security, or human resource personnel concerning threats, attack-related behaviors, boundary probing, disruptive behavior, or pending company restructuring. The goal of these consultations is to provide an organization’s management team with viable techniques for preventing or diffusing potentially violent situations. Some of the scenarios managed by N-FA teams include:

  • Written and Verbal Threats (analyzing the level of threat)
  • Bomb Threats
  • Hostage Negotiation
  • Stalking
  • Domestic Violence in the Workplace
  • Disgruntled Employee
  • Property Sabotage
  • Email or Verbal Harassment
  • Dealing With Difficult Customers
  • Hate Crimes
  • Arson
  • Homicide
  • Internet Related Issues

Nicoletti-Flater Associates is also able to provide consultation post-incident. Following a crisis, psychological clean-up is often necessary. Examples of situations that call for such intervention include:

  • School Shootings
  • Suicides
  • Workplace Shootings
  • Accidental Deaths

Following a thorough analysis of collected information, N-FA generates a risk potential for violent behaviors, as well as a risk potential for ongoing disruptive behaviors. Results from Nicoletti-Flater Associate’s Threat Assessments have not only aided agencies in violence prevention, detection and interruption, but also in litigation and sentencing in criminal cases.
